BARANGAY Ginebra coach Tim Cone has already been talking about the PBA Philippine Cup as their next target, barely less than 48 hours after the Gin Kings’ triumph in the Governors’ Cup.

BARANGAY Ginebra enters the portals of Mall of Asia Arena today, looking to complete a short work and add another crown to its growing collection.

That sort of occurrence looks all the more likely with Barangay Ginebra and Meralco colliding in a game so crucial that both of them are expected to give their all knowing what is at stake.

BARANGAY Ginebra guns for a 2-0 lead against Meralco as they resume their PBA Governors’ Cup titular showdown today at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City.

FOR the first time in 26 years — or since the Best Player of the Conference award was first instituted to become regular feature in PBA program — there is no official candidate for the plum coming from two teams playing in the finals.

“Since Stanley Pringle joined them they’ve become a very very really good three-point-hooting team,” said Black. “I don’t think we can get into a scoring contest with them (Gin Kings). I think if we can defend then we have a better chance of winning.”

Cone, a veteran of countless playoff battles that made him the most accomplished coach in PBA history with 21 titles, including two Grand Slams, would not tell who he prefers between the Bolts and the KaTropa to be his finals opponent for the Governors’ Cup.

The KaTropa and the Bolts collide today in Game 4 of their best-of-5 semifinal showdown at the Ynares Center, with the former looking to wrap up the series to advance to the finals of the season-ending conference which was instituted in 1993.
