Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group’s intelligence-driven operations net 25 most wanted car thieves

AN ongoing intelligence-driven operation by the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) has already resulted in the capture of 25 of the country’s most wanted car thieves, said PNP-HPG director, Chief Superintendent Roberto B. Fajardo who expressed confidence the number will further increase as his men continue to track down notorious carnappers, hijackers and highway robbers in their jurisdiction.

Fajardo said  they launched the operation to account for wanted carjackers and motor thieves following the initiatives of the HPG Intelligence Division headed by Senior Supt. Francis Gil G. “We have come up with a new list of car thieves, hijackers and highway robbers as well as their modus operandi and these personalities right now are the target of ongoing manhunt operations by all concerned PNP-HPG units,” said the official.

The PNP-HPG Intelligence Division generated the Top 10 Most Wanted Persons of the unit which became the priority of HPG operatives. At the same time, the same unit come up with the list of the Regional Top Most Wanted Persons for future neutralization.

Fajardo said that using the new list, the 17 Regional Highway Patrol Unit chiefs are now directly supervising the operations of their different Tracker Teams particularly when it comes to validating the current status of those in the list.
