As of yesterday, PNP spokesman, Colonel Bernard M. Banac said  a total of  4,548 police assistance desks and centers manned by 25,723 personnel have already been established by the PNP in bus terminals, airports, seaports and major highways nationwide.

National Capital Region Police Office chief, Major General Guillermo Lorenzo T. The official said he will deploy more than 11,500 police officers to secure the public including local and international tourists visiting Metro Manila this summer.

Eleazar said they will secure the metropolis tightly with the start of the summer vacation for many students which will last till June.

Aside from the full alert status, Eleazar has ordered all five NCRPO District Directors and Station Commanders to focus on the Enhanced Managing Police Operations Strategy, maximum police presence, establishment of Police Assistance Desks and Tourist Police Assistance Desks and other pre-emptive measures while the public celebrates the Lenten Season.

The NCRPO also coordinated with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Local Government Units,  different force multipliers,  volunteer groups and other concerned agencies in the conduct of anti-criminality operations; target hardening measures; traffic management/direction and control, other related police public safety services  to ensure the safety and protection of the public and their properties.

As part of the Ligtas Sumvac 2019, the NCRPO through its Regional Community Affairs Development Division is distributing safety tips flyers for summer vacation and is strengthening its public engagement and information dissemination through a series of inspections at places of convergence and transport services.

Eleazar has asked for the cooperation and support of the public to the NCRPO’s anti-criminality endeavors for a peaceful and enjoyable summer vacation in Metro Manila. He also encouraged the public to report immediately to the nearest Police Station and Police Assistance Desk whenever there is any suspicious person or activities observed.

He said that NCRPO can be contacted through social media accounts: Facebook Pio Ncrpo; Facebook Page@PIONCRPO2019; twitter@pioncrpo2019; and Isumbong Mo Sa Team NCRPO hotlines 0999-901-8181or 0915-888-8181.

“Ang NCRPO ay buong pwersang gagampanan ang aming tungkulin upang mapangalagaan at masigurong ligtas ang inyong pagbabakasyon. Gayundin, aking hinihiling sa ating mga kababayan ang kanilang kooperasyon at pagtalima sa batas upang sama-sama nating maranasan ang masaya at mapayapang bakasyon,” Eleazar said.

Eleazar said they will also secure churches which will be visited by Catholic faithful for the Visita Iglesia tradition.”Ito pong mga simbahan na pupuntahan sa Visita Iglesia ay ating tututukan. Pati na rin ang mga kabahayan na pansamantalang iiwan ng ating mga kababayang uuwi sa probinsiya, ito rin ay dapat nating bantayan katulong ng mga force multiplier,” he said.
