Angeline admits being 'retokada,' still bashed

UNDERGOING cosmetic enhancement is very common among stars in showbiz but only a few would be brave enough to admit they resort to such beautification procedures. One of them is Angeline Quinto, who just proclaimed that she is a proud “retokada beauty”.

She was the grand winner in ABS-CBN’s talent search, “Star Power, the Search for the Next Female Superstar” in 2011, hosted by Sharon Cuneta. She was quickly made to join ‘ASAP’, given her own record albums, did big concerts.

She also branched out into acting and was given good roles in several “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episodes and in teleseryes like “Kahit Konting Pagtingin” where she had Sam Milby and Paulo Avelino as her two leading men no less.

She also had solo lead roles in such movies as “Born to Love You” with Coco Martin, “That Thing Called Tanga Na” and “Foolish Love”. But sadly, despite the good breaks given to her, her career didn’t really take off.

Now, she’s still in the news with her proclamation that yes, she’s a retokada. In her social media account, she made a list of the enhancement procedures she had: eyelid surgery, liposuction on her tummy and upper arms, breast reduction (yes, others go for augmentation but she took the opposite route from cup 36D to 36B so she can easily fit into her gowns), gluta injections and radio frequency skin treatments.

And she added: “Celebrities going under the knife is such a big deal to some people. I have never felt ashamed of doing it. After all it’s you who are working and finding ways to have those treatments done; you’re not begging or stealing money from  anyone. Kaysa manggaling sa ibang tao ang ipambabayad, mas pangit ho.”

Before her confession that she’s a “retokada beauty”, Angeline already got bashed as haters say she’s obviously a retokada. Now that she opened up and admitted that she is one, she is still being bashed. A case of damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Her response to bashers: “Proud retokada here. #RetokePaMore and #StopTheHate JustLove. Mabuhay po tayong lahat.”
