ANGEL Locsin has no new movie or TV show to promote but she is the local celebrity who has given and generated the most help to affected quarters during this dreadful corona crisis. First, she gave away tents and PPE’s to medical health workers in various hospitals.
All in all, she was able to help 135 hospitals and got to donate 246 isolation and sanitation tents. As a fund raiser, because of her high credibility as a philanthropic worker, she was able to generate more than P11 million in just three weeks. She herself reported this in her most recent post in her social media account last Friday.
Her associates in this campaign are her producer-boyfriend Neil Arce, with whom she is now officially engaged, and her best friend, co-actress Dimples Romana.
She added that when they started helping, “our dream was only to provide tents to hospitals for patients and our frontliners, to address the challenge in overcrowding, and to help lessen the increase of spreading the virus in hospitals.
"But because you were all so generous and kind, we received from you donations of food, PPEs, aircon and many others, kaya naman po dahil sa inyo, we were able to give out not only tents but also PPEs and other supplies.
“So we wish to extend our gratitude to all our sponsors and suppliers who had made our initiative a success. You have reached out your helping hands even while you are at home and did not only give generously but also sent out love and prayers to those who needed your help.”
She then showed the photos and list of hospitals that got tents from their group and also listed down all the things they were able to donate to these hospitals.
Angel turned 35 years old last Thursday, April 23, and her fans sent her lots of warm greetings for being a kind-hearted soul who thinks not only of herself but her needy fellowmen. She also thanked them and encouraged them to donate some blood to the Philippine National Red Cross which a lot of patients need in this era of the pandemic.
Someone told us that her wedding to Neil Arce is originally scheduled in November of this year, but things being so uncertain now because of the extended corona lockdown, we will not be surprised if they’d decide to postpone this until such time when things have more or less gotten back to normal.
