KYLINE Alcantara is given another big break by GMA-7 in her new Afternoon Prime soap, “Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit”, her new show after “Inagaw Na Bituin” (she seemed to be destined to star in shows with “Bituin” in their titles.) She admits that she’s very nervous about it as she gets to act with such award-winning stars as Nora Aunor and Mylene Dizon, along with Ricky Davao, Zoren Legaspi, Divina Valencia, Gabby Eigenman, Isabel Rivas, and Yasser Marta in his first starring role as Kyline’s leading man. Add to that the fact that the series is directed by the most acclaimed female director in our country today, Laurice Guillen.
Kabado rin po ako kasi first time akong maidirek ni Direk Laurice, one of our best directors, and I’m hoping I didn’t disappoint her.”
In the story on TV, Kyline plays Maggie, the daughter of Mylene Dizon as Magnolia, who was abandoned by Zoren Legaspi an Anselmo, while she was pregnant with Kyline. She later falls in love with Yasser Marta as Jun, the son of Zoren with his wife Ina Feleo as Margaux. So they don’t know they can be having a forbidden love affair since they might have the same father. Has Kyline seen the original “Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit”?
But you can see maski sa clips kung gaano kahusay si Ate Guy. She’s playing dual roles in the original movie at ang galing niya talaga.”
How does she feel being paired with a newbie like Yasser Marta? “Marami silang nag-audition sa role and the production team says siyang pinaka-okay as Jun. Nagkatrabaho na kami before sa ‘Kambal Karibal’ kaya we know each other na, pero magkaaway kami roon. This time, love team na kami. I’d really rather be known as an independent star kaysa yung identified lang sa isang kapareha.”
She’s turning 18 on September 3 and since she’s a build up star of GMA-7, will she have a grand debut? “Yes, we’re preparing for it na. We already had our first meeting, but I’m not yet at liberty to reveal the details. Siguro kapag malapit na lang po.”
“Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit” will start airing on February 24 in GMA’s Afternoon Prime to replace “Madrasta” that ends on February 21.
