DEREK Ramsay says he’s about to move to his newly-constructed house when the corona lockdown was imposed so he wasn’t able to do so. And we thought he’s selling the house after his breakup with GF of six years, Joanne Villablanca?
“Yes, but I changed my mind. Ipinagpatuloy ko na lang ang construction but I changed some things in it. I really want na to prepare for settling down and have a family of my own. But right now, the world is in turmoil and it makes you think if it’d be wise to bring a new life into this chaotic world we’re having right now.”
But this time, he has a new lady love, Andrea Torres, and judging from their social media posts, they seem so enamoured with each other. They even show themselves on their accounts that they’re working out together, even if they’re in separate locations. At night, they also pray together before going to sleep. It seems like he’s really found THE ONE in Andrea.
“Yes, I think, siya na. I’ve done and gone through so many things. At sa dami ng pinagdaanan ko sa buhay, I think she came at the right time. I consider myself very blessed that someone like her, pumasok sa buhay ko na talagang nagmamahal sa akin. We both made an effort, from how the relationship started and how it grew. I’m 100 percent confident sure in my heart to say na siya na talaga.”
Of course, they can’t make other plans while the worldwide corona health crisis is going on. “We don’t know as up to when it will last. GMA has given us a new project, ‘Sanggang Dikit’, na maganda ang concept, but we don’t even know when it will start taping. So, wait and see muna tayo. Lahat naman, walang magagawa but just wait and see.”
In the meantime, he’s doing his part in helping our medical frontliners. With the help of the donut brand he’s endorsing, he went around of various hospitals to distribute free snacks to medical and hospital workers.
“It’s scary to go out, but I felt I have to do it to be of help somehow,” he says. “Siyempre, I’m wearing a protective face shield to be safe. But it gave me a nice feeling to be in the presence of these frontliners who are our true heroes now. Sobrang risky and stressful ang ginagawa nila, but they continue to serve so let’s all thank and salute them and pray for their safety.”
