GABBY Eigenmann is very pleased to be given the chance to work with Nora Aunor in GMA-7’s afternoon adaptation of the film “Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit”.
“I play Arthur, a businessman who falls in love with Mylene Dizon as Magnolia and helps her succeed in her own business,” he says. “My role was originally played by the late Miguel Rodriguez. Later on, I will also help Mylene in her desire to get revenge sa mga umapi sa kanilang pamilya noong araw, sina Zoren Legaspi, Ina Feleo and Isabel Rivas. I’m truly excited to be given the chance to work with these great actors, specially with the one and only superstar, Ms. Nora Aunor. Wala pa kaming nakukunang eksena na magkasama but I’m looking forward to that. Talagang paghahandaan ko 'yan, lalo na nga’t ang director pa namin is si Laurice Guillen no less, one of the best in the country today.”
He’s happy that, for a change, he doesn’t play a contravida role. “Sanay na ang viewers natin watching me do villain roles, but here, may chance na maawa sila sa character ko kasi I’m so devoted to Mylene and tries my best to help her but she doesn’t seem to reciprocate my feelings,” he adds. “Bagong challenge ito for me kasi mas sanay na sanay na ako sa contravida roles. I’m just happy na tuluy-tuloy ang assignments ko sa GMA at hindi ako matagal nababakante.”
Aside from “Bilangin”, Gabby is in the cast of a new movie that was partly filmed in Brisbane, Australia, where he plays a lead role. This is the unique domestic drama, “Versus”, with Sunshine Dizon, written and directed by Ralston Jover.
“Naiiba rin ang role ko diyan,” says Gabby. “Mag-asawa kami ni Sunshine but later on, I’d realize na transwoman talaga ako at hihiwalayan ko siya. Magiging crossdresser ako, nakadamit babae talaga, at magkakaroon kami ng court case for the custody of our child.”
