Igan defends self: No fake news

Arnold Clavio

ARNOLD Clavio was bashed by trolls for exposing the truth about the corona situation but a lot more people from the general public took up the cudgels for him and defended him from the diehard Dutertards. In his recent social media post, Arnold said that the East Avenue Medical Center is not being truthful in reporting the number of deaths from COVID 19 in their hospital.

Because of that, the trolls campaigned for Facebook to suspend his account. To defend himself, this is what he wrote in an open letter in his Instagram account:

😊. I am a Journalist from mainstream media @gmanetwork at @dzbb594.

He said he didn’t make the expose without any factual basis. “Much has been said about what transpired but if I may state and reiterate my position. The intent was not to call out or to criticize without any factual basis, but to bring to the attention of the authorities an urgent matter that is both worrisome and alarming.

I do not peddle fake news.

Neither am I courting public attention at the expense of public welfare. I hope you don’t see me as an antagonist because all I ever wanted was to bring light to the truth. The truth shall set us free. Thank you. Be safe everyone! #labanlang”

Netizens expressed their wholehearted support for Igan, whose credibility as a veteran TV host in “Unang Hirit” and as a TV anchor in “Saksi”, they truly respect so much. He has won so many awards and gained so much prestige, and for sure, he won’t just risk losing them just to spread fake news.

Honestly, government people should not be so onion-skinned with reports like this. Instead of acting offended, they should just say that they will take it into account and investigate the matter to find out what is really going on at the East Avenue Medical Center.
