TONY Labrusca is challenged to play an unusual role in his first movie with Viva Films, “Hindi Tayo Pwede”. He plays the ghost boyfriend of Lovi Poe. Before this, he did inde flicks “ML” and “Double Twisting”, plus the iWant film, “Glorious”. On the big screen, he played a minor role in “The Mall The Merrier” and a bigger one in Regal’s “Ang Henerasyong Sumuko sa Love”. Not bad for a newbie who failed to make it as a contestant in “Pinoy Boyband PH”, but who’s now more successful than any of the winners there.
He did very passionate bed scenes with Angel Aquino in “Glorious”. Is his love scene with Lovi Poe in “Hindi Tayo Pwede”, which opens in cinemas today, as sizzling?
“I must admit nagmarka talaga sa tao yung love scenes sa ‘Glorious’, so parang lagi na lang nilang ine-expect yung ganon sa akin. Kaya nga, minsan, ako nang kinakabahan, e. When I did the kissing scene with Lovi, naisip ko, ‘Shucks! Kailangan maging sobrang ganda rin ng kissing na ito.’ Kasi sobrang taas na ng expectation nila, e. Just watch it and you’ll see it’s different. Iba naman yung kiss namin ni Lovi.”
He says he’s proud of their bed scene. “Yung love scene namin ni Lovi is what I may call the love scene of my dreams. Ako kasi, when I watch a sex scene, I want to see two people na makikita mo yung passion, yung love nila para sa isa’t isa. Yung kikiligin ka kasi it makes your imagination run wild. So I’m really excited for you guys to see that scene so you can judge it for yourself. It’s really beautifully shot by Direk Joel Lamangan. Ako mismo, when I was watching it, nasabi ko, ‘Wow! Ang ganda! Parang nakikita mo talaga na these two people are really so madly in love with other. I think we’re able to capture that on screen.”
How is it working with Lovi? “She’s so easy to work with. No airs. I quickly felt comfortable with her. There’s no way you won’t be touched by our love story kasi nga I’m a spirit and she’s the only one who can see me.”
And how about Direk Joel Lamangan? “Well, I really thought he’s over strict, but hindi naman pala. I heard he wants his stars to be punctual, so I always report on the set very early. We got along fine. I enjoyed working with him and I’m looking forward to do another movie with him.”
