BIANCA Umali says she knows her primetime drama, “Sahaya”, is a big hit because everywhere she goes now, people address her as Sahaya. “I think it’s a good gauge kung pinapanood talaga ng tao ang show mo, 'yung ina-identify ka nila talaga sa character na ginagampanan mo,” she says. “And really, it’s so flattering. Nakakakilig malamang mahal ng tao si Sahaya and that they are rooting for her. Nakaka-inspire at mas ginaganahan ka tuloy as an actress to always give your best for the show para mas mapasaya ang mga tao. Napakagandang recognition nito not only for me but for all the cast and staff members of the show dahil maganda ang bunga ng lahat ng paghihirap namin.”
What can she say now that there are two camps of fans rooting for her love team with Miguel Tanfelix as Ahmad and also her tandem with Migo Adecer as Jordan who is so determined in wooing her? So many viewers found that scene where Migo sang a song for her very cute and charming.
Later on, Miguel and Migo figure in a fight scene because of her. Migo got mad when Miguel called up Bianca on the phone when he has promised not to disturb Sahaya anymore to insure she will have a good education and a better future while living with her biological dad, Zoren Legaspi as Harold. Sahaya is very honest in telling Migo that she has promised faithfulness to Miguel.
But Migo is persistent and tells her: “Mahal kita, sa akin ka na lang. Ano meron siya na wala ako? Ako na lang ang piliin mo.” Miguel was just hiding in the distance when he saw Migo about to kiss Sahaya and he felt crushed. He didn’t see Sahaya rejecting Migo’s advances.
“Nakakatuwa nga na sinusuportahan ng mga tao ang tambalan namin ng dalawang kapareha ko,” she beams. “But marami pa silang dapat abangan dahil marami pang mangyayari sa show. Mas maraming changes ang mangyayari kay Sahaya. They will see kung paano pa siya mag-i-improve bilang tao sa coming next chapters ng buhay niya. Fate has a lot of things in store for her na tiyak lalong ikasasaya ng viewers."
Aside from "Sahaya", Bianca and Miguel star in their first horror movie, "Banal", that will open this coming Wednesday, May 29. It's about a group of young people who go hiking in the mountains and get lost in the forest. They were warned not to do so because it's Good Friday, but they disregarded the warning and they then encounter a lot of terrifying experiences involving the occult. This is produced by APT Entertainment and also stars Andrea Brillantes, Kim Last and Taki Saito. And after "Banal", they will also be seen in GMA Pictures' family drama, "Family History", with Michael V and Dawn Zulueta.
