MIKA De La Cruz is happy to be part of the powerhouse cast of GMA-7’s new primetime soap, “Pamilya Roces”, that airs on primetime after “Onanay”. “It’s an honor na mapabilang sa batikang cast led by so many top actresses and actors at directed pa by Joel Lamangan,” she says. “Daig ko pa ang kumukuha ng workshop dahil I learn a lot from my competent co-stars and our director.”
Aside from “Pamilya Roces”, Mika is in the cast of a new youth horror movie, “Class of 2018”, produced by Rex Tiri of T-Rex Entertainment. She’s with former “Goin’ Bulilit” co-stars Nash Aguas, Sharlene San Pedro, Kristel Fulgar and CJ Navato. Folks thought Nash is wooing Sharlene but it turns out he’s really gunning for Mika, who has since transferred to be a Kapuso. He has admitted this in public. So when will Mika give him her the “matamis na oo” he’s waiting for?
“No need para magmadali dahil pareho lang kaming 19,” she says. “Medyo strict ang Ate ko (Angelika de la Cruz) at sa lahat ng nanliligaw sa’kin, siya lang ang pinayagan ni Ate na umakyat sa’min kasi magkababata kami at kilala na rin siya ni Ate since we’re kids. But I’m taking my time kasi kung sakali, he’ll be my first boyfriend so, sinisigurado ko muna ang sarili ko, ang lahat kung siya na ba talaga. If he’s sincere, he’d be willing to wait. At saka busy rin siya kasi aside from showbiz, may business siya at tuluy-tuloy rin ang college studies niya na business administration, so okay na 'yung ganito muna, masaya lang.”
After playing a supporting role in “Meant to Be”, she’s support again to Gabbi Garcia in “Pamilya Roces”. “Okay naman po. Wala naman ako sa position na maging choosy sa roles. Maganda naman 'yung role ko in ‘Pamilya Roces’ kasi akala ni Gabbi, best friend ko siya, but for me, rival ko siya and eventually lalabas din 'yung tunay kong ugali. May pagkakontrabida siya pero challenging. But kung balang araw, may offer para ako magbida, I think kakayanin ko rin naman and I’m willing to wait.”
