GLAIZA De Castro and her parents have been staying in the idyllic beach town of Baler, Aurora since the lockdown started.

“Mabuti na ring narito kami para mas nakakagalaw sila, mas presko ang summer, nakakalakad kami sa beach, mas tahimik kaysa kung nasa city kami na overcrowded na,” she says. “Dito, may maliit din silang garden at nagtatanim sila. So may pinagkakalibangan sila. Ako naman, dito ako nagwo-workout to keep fit para kapag tapos na ang lockdown, hindi naman ako out of shape at kinalawang.”

Glaiza has started taping a new drama for the Kapuso Network when the lockdown was declared and all tapings were stopped. This is tentatively titled “The Seed of Love”, about a pregnancy obtained through in vitro fertilization where she co-stars with Mike Tan, Boy2 Quizon and Valerie Concepcion, directed by Ricky Davao.

“We all thought na magtutuluy-tuloy ang taping namin pero bigla ngang nahinto dahil sa worldwide health crisis na pinagdaraanan natin ngayon,” she says. "Ewan kung kailan kami magre-resume."

We heard that Glaiza’s boyfriend from Britain, David Rainey, who she met while vacationing in Siargao Island some two years ago, is now also staying with her in Baler. This was confirmed when she posted a video showing her dancing with her boyfriend and her friends teased her that she won’t be bored during the lockdown as she has all her loved ones with her in Baler.

They tell her that her life now by the beach is “kumpletos rekados”. Meantime, you can watch Glaiza playing the role of the fiery Pirena in “Encantadia II”, which is now being reshown weeknights, right after “24 Oras”. We heard that the replay now of “Encantadia” is actually rating even higher than when it was first shown three or four years ago. This means viewers are now appreciating it even more than when it was originally shown. With Glaiza in this show are Sanya Lopez as Danaya, Kylie Padilla as Amihan and Gabbi Garcia as Alena, directed by Mark Reyes.
