ONE of the two brothers died in an ambush staged by unidentified gunmen Tuesday afternoon in Muntinlupa City.
Angelbert Paco, 21, died on the spot from bullet wounds in the head and body while his elder brother Kim, 25, security guard, was rushed to Ospital ng Muntinlupa where he underwent surgical operation for bullet wounds in the body.
In a report submitted to acting Southern Police District (SPD) director Senior Supt. Eliseo Cruz, the victims, who are residents of 101 Purok 6, Tramo Heights, Bgy. Sucat, were onboard a motorcycle and traversing along Posadas Avenue when unidentified assailants, onboard a gray Toyota Innova (UJO-863) blocked their path in front of Patio Homes Subdivision at around 5:15 p.m.
The suspects, armed with unknown type of firearms, alighted from their vehicle and fired successive shots, hitting Angelbert in the head and body while Kim sustained gunshot wound in the right portion of his waist.
Though wounded, Kim tried to continue driving his motorcycle to escape but his brother, who was his back rider, fell off the motorcycle and died on the spot.
After the killing, the suspects fled while concerned citizens and barangay officials in the area rushed Kim to the hospital.
Muntinlupa police chief Senior Supt. Jerry Umayao said Kim was a criminology graduate at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa while his younger brother was still unemployed at the time of his death.
Homicide investigators are still conducting a follow-up investigation to determine the motive behind the killing while a follow-up operation was still ongoing for possible identification and arrest of the suspects.
