TWO riders were killed while six others were injured in a multiple collision involving a 10-wheeler truck, two passenger jeeps, a car, a motorcycle and two bikes yesterday morning in Taguig City.
Taguig police chief P/Col. Alexander Santos identified the fatalities as biker Danilo Pedroso, Jr and motorcycle rider fire officer Gerald Ian Hernandez, while Ronald Ortega, Christopher Auino, Aldren Ano, Jaime Ocfemia, Rogelio Salina and Cristel Castro were rushed to Taguig Pateros District Hospital for treatment of their body injuries.
Police said the incident happened at around 5:45 a.m. while the 10- wheeler truck driven by Roman Mariñas, 29, of San Acinto, Pangasinan was traveling on C-6 Road heading towards Rizal province together with his younger brother Ronny and Julius Valliman as helpers.
Upon reaching Lakeshore in Brgy. Lower Bicutan, the truck allegedly lost its brakes and rammed into a motorcycle, two bikes, a car and two passenger jeeps.
Charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, multiple physical injuries and damage to property will be filed against the driver of the truck while his two helpers were also taken into custody by the police.
