AT least 10,000 devotees trooped to the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, Manila to see the heart relic of St. Padre Pio.
As of 1 a.m. yesterday, the Manila Police District (MPD) said about 5,000 went to the said church and that the number doubled by noon.
The relic will stay at the Manila Cathedral for viewing only up to this morning, after coming from the national shrine of St. Padre Pio in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
Rev. Father Jojo Gonda, director of the national shrine of St. Padre Pio, said that aside from Luzon, the heart relic will also be taken to Visayas and Mindanao before it is brought back to Batangas.
The relic arrived in the country on October 5 and will be in the country until October 26, after which it will be headed to Italy.
