AUTHORITIES arrested 11 high school students, including five young girls, during an “after class” marijuana pot session in one of their classmate’s house Monday evening in Makati City.
Makati police deputy chief for operation Chief Supt. Gideon Ines, Jr. said the minors, aged 14 to 17, were caught at a house in Consular Area, in Bgy. Southside at around 6 p.m. by members of Bantay Bayan, with the assistance of PO1 Manuel Gutierrez, Jr. of Makati Police Community Precinct (PCP) 10.
Prior to the raid, elements of Bantay Bayan received a complaint about the noise the students were creating, prompting barangay officials to respond to the area.
Chief Insp. Ines said the “rescued” students, most of them were still in school uniform, admitted to the police that since it was an exam week, they decided not to attend their remaining classes to enjoy some bonding moments with their classmates but denied smoking marijuana.
