1,450 crime suspects collared in Pasay drive

COMPLYING with the directive of Pasay Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano to conduct an intensified anti-criminality campaign, the local police force led by Colonel Bernard Yang have reported the arrest of some 1,450 suspects during a four-day sweep from January 29 to February 1 this year.

Among those collared face various offenses such as violation of anti-illegal drugs law, while others were wanted for various crimes and those that violated local city ordinances.

The operations resulted in the confiscation of more than P1 million worth of illegal drugs such as shabu and dried marijuana leaves, as well as various firearms and deadly weapons that included hand grenade and improvised explosives, Colonel Yang said in his report submitted to Mayor Calixto-Rubiano.

Mayor Calixto-Rubiano said she ordered Pasay’s Chief of Police to conduct an intensified anti-crime drive to make the city streets safer for the people and impose law and order throughout her area of jurisdiction.

The mayor also lauded Colonel Yang for their immediate action even as she expressed her full support to the Pasay police force, noting that her office is always open and willing to work hand in hand with them.

“Ako po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa ating kapulisan dahil sa masigasig na pagpapatupad nila ng batas para masiguro ang katahimikan at kaayusan sa ating lungsod” Mayor Calixto-Rubiano said.
