AUTHORITIES seized almost P.5 million worth of high grade shabu from a young man and a woman in a buy-bust operation before dawn yesterday in Malabon City.
Malabon police chief Senior Supt. Jessie Tamayao identified the arrested suspects as Cherish Mose, alias “Che-Che”, 22, of Market 3, Bgy. North Bay Boulevard North (NBBN), Navotas City, and Argie Mendez, alias “Nonoy” of Dagat-Dagatan, Bgy. 8 Caloocan City.
In his report to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Guillermo Eleazar, Tamayao said the arrest of the two drug pushers resulted in the confiscation of 12 plastic packs of high grade shabu placed in a green pouch with an estimated street value of P460,000.
Earlier at around 4:30 a.m., joint elements of Malabon Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and Police Community Precinct 4 led by Senior Insp. Johnny Baltan and Insp. Rolando Balderas conducted a buy-bust operation against the suspects along Sisa St. in Bgy. Tugatog.
When the suspects handed a plastic sachet of high grade shabu to a poseur-buyer in exchange for P500 marked money, the police decoy gave the pre-arranged signal, prompting arresting officers to pounce on them.
Police believed that the arrested suspects were couriers of drug syndicates operating in Camanava area since they are not included on the list of barangay and police drug watchlists.
Tamayao said they are now on the hunt for the alleged supplier of illegal drugs, whose name was temporarily withheld pending his arrest, after being identified by the arrested suspects as their main source of high grade shabu.
