2 ‘Estribo’ men killed in QC clash

TWO alleged members of the “Estribo Gang” were killed during an encounter with the police in Quezon City yesterday.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Supt. Joselito T. Esquivel Jr. said one of the slain suspects was described as about in his early 50s, 5’4” in height and wearing black T-shirt, black pants and a red helmet. The other suspect, meanwhile, was in his early 40s and was about 5’7” in height and wearing gray T-shirt and short pants.

The report said that at about 1:05 a.m. yesterday,  operatives of QC-CIDG received information from a concerned citizen about the presence of four armed men along Aurora Boulevard. The information was relayed to their operatives who were conducting surveillance operation in the area.

The suspects reportedly pulled out their firearms upon sensing the presence of the police operatives.

A brief shootout erupted that resulted in the death of two of the suspects while two others escaped on board a motorcycle.

Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) team and Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) recovered from the slain suspects two caliber .38 Smith and Wesson revolvers and three sachets of shabu.
