2 ‘men in black’ robbers killed in Pasay shootout

TWO suspected armed robbers who earlier robbed a woman of cash and a cellular phone were killed in a shootout with cops before dawn yesterday in Pasay City.

Pasay police chief Sr. Supt. Noel Flores said the slain suspects both clad in black shirts and denim pants, died on the spot from gunshot wounds in their bodies.

Flores said the the victim, a certain “Mika” of Pablo St. Bgy. 38 was robbed at gunpoint on Cinco de Junio corner Arnaiz Streets, by the armed robbers on board a black motorcycle at around 3 a.m.

The victim reported the incident to elements of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and Station Intelligence Section (SIS) who were conducting anti-criminality operation near the area where the robbery took place.

Operatives of the SDEU and SIS conducted a follow-up operation and later encountered the two suspects on board their black motorcycle traversing along C-5 Extension, Brgy. 201 at around 4:40 a.m.

The robbers fired shots at the pursuing police officers, prompting the lawmen to retaliate, hitting them in the body that resulted in their untimely death.

Recovered from the slain suspects were two caliber .38 revolvers, the victim’s cellular phone and four transparent plastic sachets containing an undetermined quantity of suspected shabu while eight pieces of empty shells for caliber .9mm pistol were scattered at the crime scene.
