A BUY-BUST operation inside the Quezon City Memorial Circle on Friday resulted in the arrest of two suspected big-time drug personalities after they conspired to sell some 200 grams of shabu worth P1.360 million, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency chair, Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva reported yesterday.
The official identified the arrested suspects as Andres Bartolome and Ma. Cristina dela Cruz.
He said members of the PDEA Special Enforcement Service and the PDEA K-9 Unit arrested the duo in front of the Max’s Restaurant parking lot inside the Q.C. Memorial Circle at 4 p.m. Friday.
Recovered from the two were 200 grams of the prohibited drugs, the boodle money topped by a marked P500 bill and a mobile phone they used in making contact with the undercover officer.
The suspects are now being held at the PDEA national headquarters in Q.C. where charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against them.
The case is a non-bailable offense punishable by life imprisonment and a fine of as much as P10 million upon conviction, Villanueva said.
