2 Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency agents, drug dealer wounded in shootout

A GUNFIGHT yesterday morning in Pasay City left an armed drug trafficker and two agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency wounded during a buy-bust  which led to the seizure of a kilo of suspected shabu worth P6.8 million.

PDEA Agent 3 Charlemaine Tang and Agent 2 Richard Saure, 44, sustained gunshot wounds in the body and were rushed to San Juan De Dios Hospital for treatment.

Unioil gasoline station cashier  Shairalyn de Guzman who was hit by stray bullet and suspect Jeric Sandoval alias ‘Boy’, who was wounded during the operation were rushed to the 7th Day Adventist Hospital for medical treatment. The suspect’s cohort managed to escape.

Pasay police homicide investigator SPO2 Joel Landicho said the buy-bust transpired near Unioil Gas Station at the corner of Gil Puyat Avenue and F.B. Harrison Street, at around 7:30 a.m.

When the suspects sensed that they were dealing with undercover PDEA agents, they drew their firearms and fired at  the lawmen who were hit in the body.

Despite being wounded, Tang and Saure returned fire hitting Sandoval.

Pasay police head of investigators Chief Insp. Wilfredo Sangel said they are still conducting a follow-up operation for the immediate arrest of the other suspect.
