Police killed two suspected robbers in a shootout in Bgy. Gulod, Novaliches, on Tuesday night.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Supt. Joselito T. Esquivel Jr. said the slain suspects were described as about 25-35 years old.  One of them was wearing black jacket, red short pants, white rubber shoes, sporting tattooes in the back and chest while the other was wearing blue jacket, pink rubber shoes, gray short pants and bull cap.

Esquivel said that prior to the incident, complainant Jonathan Palaje sought assistance at QCPD-PS 4 after two armed men stole his motorcycle at 9:45 p.m. along Urduja St. near Doña Rosario Elementary School, Doña Rosario Subd., Bgy. Nova Proper.

At around 11:30 p.m., another complainant, identified as Kobe Juliano, 18, came to the police station and reported that two motorcycle-riding armed men robbed him at gunpoint and took his cellphone and P3,000 cash.

Acting on the information, PS 4 operatives conducted a follow-up operation at 12:05 a.m. yesterday wherein they spotted two men riding on a motorcycle on Vero-nica St., Bgy. Gulod, which matched the description given by the victims.

Policemen flagged down the suspects, but instead of stopping, the two sped away. A brief chase ensued  after which the suspects were cornered on Veronica St. The suspects fired at the pursuing lawmen, triggering a brief shootout.

SOCO team and CIDU investigators recovered at the crime scene a caliber .38 revolver with serial no. 964038 with four fired cartridges and two ammunition, a sachet of shabu and the stolen belongings of the victims.

Both Juliano and Palaje positively identified the slain suspects as the same persons who robbed them.
