NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office director, Major General Debold M. Sinas, yesterday ordered three Southern Police District non-commissioned officers caught drinking liquor while on duty to be assigned as thermal scanners in checkpoints in the southern part of Metro Manila put up as part of the ‘community quarantine’ aimed at preventing the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus.

Sinas instructed SPD director, Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel B. Peralta not to relieve the three policemen identified as Police Executive Master Sergeant Dennis Matriano, Staff Sergeant Marvin Hipolito and Corporal Misael Ruby but instead send them in checkpoints where they will be the ones to use thermal scanners being utilized to check the body temperature of the public.
