Three suspected gun- runners were killed during a shootout with the operatives of District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) in Bgy. Bagong Bantay, Quezon City, on Thursday.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Supt. Joselito T. Esquivel Jr. said the slain suspects are yet to be identified. Two of them were described to be between 25 and 30 years old and the other was about 30-35 years old. All of them bore tattooes in their bodies.
The report said that around 4 p.m. Thursday, a buy-bust operation was conducted along Cavite St., Bgy. Bagong Bantay. A police poseur-buyer managed to set up a transaction to buy three units of 12-gauge shotguns from the suspects.
However during the transaction, the suspects sensed the presence of other operatives, pulled out their firearms and opened fire. A shootout ensued which resulted in the death of the suspects.
Aside from the three Armscor 12-gauge shotguns, police also recovered three cal. .45 pistols and the buy-bust money.
