THREE armed robbers involved in illegal drug trade were killed after engaging lawmen in a shootout Wednesday afternoon in Taguig City.
Taguig police chief P/Col. Celso Rodriguez identified the slain suspects as Adam Kamid Chiongbian, Ronaldo Jarumay Villanueva alias “Kuntil” and Edward Dagwayan Galleposo, alias “Edong” who were allegedly involved in drug pushing and responsible for a series of robberies in Taguig and nearby cities.
Report reaching the office of Southern Police District (SPD) Acting Director P/Col. Emmanuel Peralta showed that while elements of Taguig City Police Intelligence Section, led by P/CMSgt. Arnaldo Pacleb were conducting anti-criminality operation in Bgy. Napindan at around 4 p.m., they received a tip from their informant regarding the presence of armed men in. Ibayo, Tipas.
Pacleb and his men immediately proceeded to the area where they chanced upon the suspects who immediately ran towards the 3-storey house on Dela Paz Street, Ibayo, Napindan prompting them to give chase.
When the suspects ran upstairs, policemen followed them but they were met by a volley of gunfire prompting them to retaliate.
After a brief exchange of gunfire, the three armed men lay dead with bullet wounds in their bodies.
Police recovered from the slain suspects a cal. 45 Colt pistol, cal. .38 revolver, a grenade rifle and a fragmentation grenade.
