FOUR Chinese tourists have been detained by the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group for their reported involvement in the kidnapping of one of their compatriots outside the Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City on Thursday last week following the latter’s failure to pay them their huge gambling debt, PNP-AKG director, Brigadier General Glenn G. Dumlao announced yesterday.

The official identified the arrested foreigners as Yalong Ding,33, a native of Gansu, China; Mingmeng Zhang,24, of Liaoning, China; Leilei Fang,26, of Nei Mongol, China; and Quishun Li,30, of Hunan province, China.

Yalong Ding is presently billeted at Unit  202 Melchor Building, Arista Place, Jose P. Rizal Street in Barangay Sto. Niño, Parañaque City while Zhang and Fang are both from Unit 1903 Bayview Tower 2, Pasay City. On the other hand, Li is presently billeted at Unit 704-3B Eiffel Bldg., Chateau Elysee Condominium in  Doña Soledad Extension, Moonwalk, Parañaque City.

Dumlao said that the four were arrested in connection with the kidnapping of 29-year old Chinese national Li Bo, a native of Henan, China who arrived in Manila as a tourist and stayed at no. 10-A Cluster 3 Bldg. in Pinecrest Residential Resort in Newport City, Newport Boulevard, Pasay City.

He said that a friend of the victim identified as Pengpeng Zhao,29,  sought their assistance in rescuing the former  whom he said was forcibly abducted by three of the suspects while he was waiting for his ride at the lobby of the Solaire Casino around 2 a.m. last Thursday.

Dumlao said that the complainant claimed that the victim was taken to the Chateau Elysee Condominium in  Moonwalk, Parañaque City where he was detained by the kidnappers for his failure to pay them the P200,000 he borrowed from them plus its interest.

The official said that the kidnappers also recorded on video the times they beat the victim before sending the video footage to his family and friends in China thru WeChat application.

Dumlao said that acting on the information, members of the PNP-AKG Luzon Field Unit led by Lieutenant Colonel Jerico Baldeo  proceeded to the Elysee Condominium where they found the victim and arrested his kidnappers last Saturday evening.
