4 suspects slain in Quezon City encounters

Authorities killed four armed suspects in separate encounters  in Quezon City.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Chief Superintendent Joselito T. Esquivel Jr., said that investigators are still determining the identities of the slain suspects.

The first encounter transpired at about 10:45 p.m., Thursday along General Luis St., Bgy. Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches, Quezon City.

Investigation showed that a certain Ivan Jan Liberato reported to the Novaliches Police Station that at about 4 p.m. yesterday, his Yamaha Mio motorcycle was forcibly taken at gunpoint in front of a gasoline station along General Luis St. corner Damong Maliit St., Bgy. Nagkaisang Nayon.

The incident was recorded in a cctv installed at the said establishment.

Police conducted a follow-up operation wherein the suspects were spotted making a sudden U-turn in an alley after seeing policemen conducting ‘Oplan Sita’.

The suspects reportedly pulled out their firearms and fired shots at the pursuing operatives. A brief shootout ensued which resulted in the death of the suspects.

Police investigators recovered one caliber .38 Smith and Wesson and another caliber .38 revolver from the suspects including six sachets of shabu, two cellular phones and the Yamaha Mio Sporty, color black with Plate Number NA55266 which Liberato identified as the same motorcycle that was taken from him by the culprits.
