ABOUT 4,000 members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) will be assigned at the Quirino Grandstand and other parts of Manila in connection with the anniversary of the Martial Law declaration on Friday.
Meantime, it was learned that various militant and religious groups have reportedly committed to peaceful conduct of the activities slated for that day.
During a dialogue held at the Club Intramuros attended by NCRPO Regional Director Guillermo Eleazar and MPD director Chief Supt. Rolando Anduyan, the police polished security plans for the deployment of the police and the maintenance of peace, order and security.
It was learned that the 4,000 personnel to be detailed that day include the police as well as the augmentation and force multipliers.
Eleazar assured that maximum tolerance will be enforced while Teddy Casiño of Bayan Muna said they will stick to the agreement, which includes securing a permit to use their chosen venue of rallies.
