6 nabbed for P4.2-M marijuana

SOME 35 kilos of marijuana worth P4.2 million were confiscated by anti-drug operatives from six suspects in Quezon City, Monday night.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Supt. Joselito T. Esquivel Jr. identified those arrested as Grenie Hierro, 34, Lassery Ann Rayo, 30, both of Bgy. Immaculate Concepcion, QC; Anthony John Timpug, 39, of Florida Blanca, Pampanga; Archie Visperas, 22, of Bgy. San Roque, Cubao; Randbel Clifford Venzon, 20, of Pasay City.

A 16-year-old bachelor was rescued in the said anti-illegal drug operation.

QCPD Station 7 and PDEA operatives seized from the suspects several bricks of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops in plastics weighing 35 kilos worth P4.6 million in street value, seven cellphones, several drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money.

The suspects said that the illegal drugs came from Kalinga and Apayao.
