
9 arrested for firing guns
NINE persons, including two minors, were nabbed and charged by the Manila Police District -Station 9 for indiscriminately firing guns yesterday morning in Malate, Manila.
Now facing charges of alarm and scandal, violation of the election gun ban and illegal possession of firearms are Anjo Padilla, 27; Jeffrey Mendoza, 32; Luilius Dolante, 30; Maryjay Dominguez, 29; Beucan Morillo, 23; Wendel de Guzman, 24; Marc Senez,21 and two boys aged 16.
Police said the incident took place at around 5:40 a.m. at the corner of M.H del Pilar and Aldecoa Streets in Malate.
MPD-SWAT team members effected the arrest of the suspects who were aboard two Honda cars, one black and the other orange.
According to Manila Police they received a call from a concerned citizen saying at least one or more of the suspects were firing into the air guns of unknown caliber.
It was learned that one of the guns used had been traced by the police.
