Albayalde: Charges vs Marikina mayor verified

DENYING he merely created an issue against Marikina City Mayor Marcelino Teodoro, Philippine National Police chief, Director General Oscar D. Albayalde yesterday said all the allegations made by the local police against the former congressman were thoroughly verified.

The PNP chief also said he was only taking the cudgels for his subordinates who have aired their complaint against Teodoro of the Nationalist People’s Coalition. Other police officials said that Gen. Albayalde last Monday did not name the mayor in his regular Camp Crame press briefing lest he be accused of trying to smear the name of the re-electionist mayor. However, Albayalde was forced to speak when Teodoro talked to the media and claimed he was all wrong.

“Verified naman eh. No less than the director ng NCRPO, no less than the chief of police, and no less than the Eastern Police District director ang nagsabi dito, and they made a black and white report,” he told reporters.

Marikina City Police Station commander, Colonel Redrico Maranan, a member of PNP Academy Class 1995 made the report which he forwarded to Eastern Police District director, Brigadier General Christopher E. Tambungan and NCRPO director, Major Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar.
