SENATOR Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, congratulated the City Government of Caloocan and Mayor Oca Malapitan for all the awards and recognitions the local government received for its exemplary performance.
Angara, the chairman of the Senate Ways and Means Committee who ushered the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law was welcomed by Mayor Oca, Vice Mayor Maca Asistio, Congressman Along Malapitan, City Administrator Oliver Hernandez, Secretary to the Mayor Lilibeth “Betsie” Luakian, city councilors, department heads, and employees.
“Ngayong ika-57 anibersaryo ng Caloocan, binabati ko kayo sa lahat ng parangal na inyong natanggap at patuloy na pag-unlad na inyong tinatamasa,” said Sen. Angara, who is seeking re-election.
Meanwhile, Mayor Oca thanked Sen. Angara for visiting Caloocan and vowed to continue working for the city’s progress.
“We will work harder to make Caloocan City more progressive,” he said.
Prior to the senator’s visit, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has recently conferred to Caloocan City the 2014 Seal of Good Local Governance and Good Financial Housekeeping for keeping all its financial procedures and records in order.
Mayor Malapitan said these awards only prove that there is no more graft and corruption in Caloocan City government.
