Anti-Kidnapping Group agents collar Chinese fugitive

STEPPED-UP coordination between the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group and the Chinese Embassy led in the capture of a Chinese fugitive who went into hiding in the country, PNP-AKG director, Chief Superintendent Glenn G. Dumlao announced yesterday.

Dumlao said that Yao Shunguan, a 32-year old native of Chenshong Village, Loutang, Jingyang City, China was arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by the Public Security of Yishui County, China.

The official said that last December 30, members of the Criminal Investigation Department of the China Ministry of Public Security sought their assistance to apprehend the fugitive.

Acting on the request, the PNP-AKG called on the assistance of the Pasay City Police Station leading to the arrest of the suspect  along F.B. Harrison Street,  Pasay for violation of Republic Act  9262 or the Violence Against Women and Children.

PNP-AKG picked up the Chinese fugitive at the local police station and brought him to the PNP-AKG headquarters.

Dumlao said that last Wednesday a team of Chinese security officials led by Deputy Director Lui Jinglie and Chinese Police Attaché to the Philippines Li Le, came to their office to fast track the deportation of the arrested person.

Dumlao said they have discussed too the need to further enhance cooperation snd coordination to address the rising incidents of kidnapping of Chinese casino players in Manila’s entertainment city.
