Arms, ammunition, drugs seized from Malabon pusher

POLICE seized assorted firearms, ammunition and illegal drugs from a suspected gunrunner cum drug pusher following a brief chase shortly before midnight yesterday in Malabon City.

​Malabon police chief P/Col. Jessie Tamayao said John Vincent Fiegalan, alias “JB”, 22, of 173 Malolos Avenue, Bgy. 153 Bagong Barrio, Caloocan city was nabbed by elements of Police Community Precinct (PCP) 2 led by Lt. Edgardo Magnaye along Bagong Lote St., Bgy. Potrero at around 11:50 p.m.

Lt. Magnaye, together with SSgt. Julius Caesar Mendoza, Cpl. Ferdinand Adap, Cpl. Larry Ocampo and barangay officials were conducting “Oplan Galugad” in Brgy. Potrero when they noticed Fiegalan carrying a big bag pack and acting suspiciously while walking along Bagong Lote St.

​When police officers approached him for verification, the suspect resisted and ran away prompting the lawmen to give chase until he was cornered a few meters away.

Col. Tamayao said that during verification, his men recovered from the arrested suspect  a cal. 9mm pistol with three magazines loaded with 19 ammunition, a cal. 45 pistol with magazine loaded with six ammunition, a cal. 22 ammunition, five plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 25.65 grams with standard drug price worth P174,420, a plastic bag containing dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops weighing 80.14 grams worth P9,616.80, assorted drug paraphernalia and P74,940 cash.

The recovered pieces of evidence were brought to Northern Police District (NPD) Crime Laboratory Office for examination while the arrested suspect was subjected for inquest proceeding before the  Malabon City Prosecutor’s Office for violation of Section 5 and Section 11 of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act, R.A. 10591 or Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition, Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code and R.A. 11332 authorizing the declaration of state of public health emergency.
