Barangay chief sued for hitting teen with buckle

A BARANGAY chairman in Manila is in hot water after a 16-year-old boy accused him of hitting him with the buckle of a belt in Sta. Cruz, Manila, the other day.

Accompanied by his father in filing a complaint at the Manila Police District Headquarters on United Nations Avenue in Ermita, the boy, a student and residing at Oroquieta St. in Sta. Cruz, Manila, identified the chaIrman as Felipe Falcon Jr., of Bgy. 350, Zone 35, District 2 in Sta. Cruz.

Initial probe by the MPD-Children and Women’s Protection Unit shows the incident took place at around 11 p.m. on Saturday inside the barangay hall.

Police are still finding out how the whole incident began and why.  The boy alleged that the chairman hit him several times, using his belt buckle.

Sources said the chairman will be charged administratively and criminally, specifically physical injuries and violation of the child abuse law.
