MAYOR Isko Moreno appealed to some unscrupulous barangay officials to have a conscience following reports that a number of them are padding their lists of constituents to get more relief packs being distributed by the city government of Manila.

Moreno said that his office had received information that some barangay chairmen add even thousands to their list of recipients.

Because of this, Moreno said the city government will have to require barangay chairmen to sign an “undertaking” when receiving the goods, while informing them that the move is to make them answerable to the Commission on Audit (COA) should they provide a padded list.

The mayor also warned establishments who are selling fake medical products or overpricing them.

He vowed to revoke permits of funeral parlors who refuse to accept cadavers whom they suspect died of COVID 19, after getting reports that some bodies remain in hospital morgues longer than usual with no funeral parlor getting them.
