BI deports 9 Japanese nat’ls for telcom fraud

NINE Japanese nationals were deported by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) following their arrest by the bureau’s operatives in November last year, at the request of authorities in their country where they are wanted for telecommunications fraud.

The nine Japanese were flown to Narita Airport, Tokyo at 9:40 a.m. aboard a Japan Airlines flight from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1.  

They were identified as Irie Dai, Ishii Kyogo, Hamaoka Kantaro, Maeyama Takuto, Tanaka Kazuya, Yoshida Takeshi, Murata Seiichi, Kouki Shouji and Imizumi Ryo.

The said deportees comprised the first batch from among the 36 Japanese nationals who were arrested in Makati City last Nov. 13 by agents from the BI fugitive search unit (FSU) under Bobby Raquepo, who said that the schedule for the implementation of the deportation of the others remaining at the BI Detention Center in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig have yet to be finalized.
