Bogus cop flagged down, nabbed at QC checkpoint

MEMBERS of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) have arrested another bogus cop at a Quarantine Checkpoint in Bgy. Payatas, on Monday.

QCPD Director, Police Brigadier General Ronnie S Montejo identified the arrestee suspect as Henry B. Ysulat Jr., 29, a resident of 61Q Gen. Lucban Street, Bagong Silangan.

A report showed that at about 9:30 a.m. March 30, 2020, Ysulat was on board a motorcycle and was wearing a police General Office Attire (GOA) uniform when he was flagged down in a Quarantine Checkpoint along Payatas Road near Montalban/Rodriguez boundary.

Ysulat reportedly introduced himself as a police officer assigned at Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG). However, upon verification he failed to present neither his PNP identification nor a driver’s license.

He was not able to produce pertinent documents for the caliber 9MM pistol and several ammunition that was caught in his possession.

Aside from the caliber 9mm pistol with Serial No. 64523, police also seized 32 pieces of ammunition for caliber 9mm, six pieces ammunition for cal. .45 placed in a firearm holster, a Baofeng handheld radio, several identification cards under his name, a blue cellular phone, a handcuff, a brown vest with “PULIS” markings and a Yamaha Mio Sporty motorcycle with MV File no. 1301-00000836840.

During interrogation, the suspect disclosed that he got the firearm and ammunition and the police uniform from his relative whom he said to had  already retired from the service.

Ysulat is the second arrested fake policemen in a Quarantine Checkpoint following the arrest of a family driver yesterday identified as Joselito Luz, of Bgy. West Crame, San Juan City.
