Bureau of Immigration raids firm with Chinese working without permits

A TOTAL of 276 Chinese nationals were arrested by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) in a raid at a network technology company in Makati City, after they were found to be working without the required immigration visas or permits.

BI Intelligence Division Chief Fortunato Manahan, Jr. said the 276 foreign nationals were arrested for verification of their travel documents and immigration status. He said most of them were found engaged in online gaming business.

The raid was conducted Monday at the Alphaland Technology Solutions located at No. 7232 Ayala Avenue in Makati City, at around 4 p.m.
