Caloocan body to meet on 9-hour curfew

THE Caloocan City Council will convene in a special session today for the passage of an ordinance that will set a nine-hour curfew covering the period set for the community quarantine as measure to prevent the spread of novel corona virus disease (COVID) 19.

Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan said that during the meeting of the Metro Manila Council (MMC) on Saturday, they unanimously agreed to a resolution to pass and ordinance that will set an 8 in the evening to 5 in the morning curfew that will be implemented immediately until April 14 or at the end of the quarantine period.

In an advisory issued by the City Public Information Office, the special session, to be presided by Caloocan City Vice Mayor Maca Asistio, will start at 10 a.m. today, Monday.

“Hinihikayat ko pa ang lahat ng residente ng lungsod na makiisa dahil ang kaligtasan ng lahat ng mamamayan ang aming prayoridad kung kaya’t inaasahan ko ang pagsunod at suporta ng lahat para sa ligtas na Caloocan,” Mayor Oca said in his statement.

Earlier, Mayor Oca deployed a group of Disinfection Team from the City Environmental Management Department (CEMD) to different areas especially public transport terminals and auditoriums.
