AGENTS of the National Capital Region Office of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group have arrested three wanted persons in Metro Manila in separate manhunt operations on Wednesday and yesterday, CIDG-NCR chief, Lieutenant Colonel Arnold Thomas C. Ibay said.
In a report to PNP-CIDG director, Major General Joel Napoleon M. Coronel, the official identified the arrested suspects as Mary Jane Belmoro, 29; Sanlee Pearl Basa, 31; and Nazareth Masangkay, 35.
The official said that Belmoro, a resident of Saint Mary’s Street, Cubao, Quezon City was arrested inside a restaurant located along Scout Tuazon Street corner Timog Avenue, QC at 6 a.m. yesterday on the strength of a warrant of arrest for carnapping.
The warrant was issued by Judge Clinto Nuevo of the Ormoc City Regional Trial Court Branch 12. Ibay said that his men were assisted by members of the National Capital Region Police Office’s Regional Intelligence Division, the QC Police Station 7 and the PNP Highway Patrol Group in arresting the suspect who was described as the 8th most wanted person in the entire Eastern Visayas region.
A P180,000 bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the accused who is now being held at the CIDG-NCR office in Camp Crame.
On the other hand, Basa, a resident of 116 Arlegui St., Quiapo, Manila was arrested by CIDG-NCR, NCRPO-RID and Manila Police District officers on the basis of a warrant of arrest for theft issued by Judge Teodoro Carbonera of the Las Piñas City RTC Branch 121 on June 18 last year.
Ibay described Basa as a member of the Romakin Criminal Group involved in theft in a number of food chains and mini-groceries in Las Piñas and Muntinlupa City.
