A construction worker suspected to be involved in illegal drugs was arrested for firing his gun, along with his co-worker, after a concerned citizen sought the assistance of police hours before the celebration of New Year’s Eve in Navotas City.
Alexander Illustrisimo alias “Sander,” 27, of 49 Baron St. Bgy. North Bay Boulevard North (NBBN) and Glenn Monares, 36, of 417 Bgy. NBBN were nabbed at the corner of R-10 and Linchanco St. Brgy. NBBN at around 6:45 p.m. when concerned citizen in the area reported the incident to Navotas Police Tactical Operation Center.
Navotas deputy police chief for administration Supt. Ferdinand Balgoa said a caliber .45 pistol with magazine loaded with two live ammunition was recovered from Illustrisimo while an empty shell was recovered by police in the area.
When frisked, each yielded a plastic sachet of shabu from their pockets which will be submitted to NPD Crime Laboratory along with the confiscated gun for ballistic examination.
Police said the two will be subjected for background check after they received report that they were allegedly involved in a murder case and had pending cases of concealing deadly weapon.
Illustrisimo admitted firing his gun but he and Monares denied owning the recovered sachets of shabu.
