A MAN sentenced in absentia and ordered imprisoned for 18 months by a court for illegal possession of dangerous drugs paraphernalia was arrested by agents of the Regional Special Operations Unit of the National Capital Region Police Office in his hiding place in Taguig City last Monday, NCRPO chief, Director Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar announced yesterday.
Mark Anthony Resayo was tracked down inside no. 04 Manuel L. Quezon Avenue in Barangay Bambang, Taguig City by NCRPO-RSOU operatives under Superintendent Rogarth Campo at 10:30 a.m. Monday, the NCRPO chief said.
According to Eleazar, the convicted drug offender was arrested on the strength of an order issued by a local court which ordered him to be held in jail for a minimum of six months and one day up to one-year and six months and to pay a P10,000 fine.
The jail term was issued after the court found the suspect guilty of violation of Article II, Section 12 or Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 or possession of drug paraphernalia for dangerous drugs, said Eleazar.
