A POLICE officer was wounded while an alleged notorious drug suspect was killed when a buy-bust operation turned into an encounter Thursday evening in Malabon City.
Northern Police District Director P/Brig. Gen Ronaldo Ylagan said District Drug Enforcement (DDEU) operative P/Cpl. Michael Aducal, who posed as poseur-buyer, sustained lone gunshot wound in the body and was rushed to Chinese General Hospital where he underwent surgical operation. He’under observation.
The slain suspect, identified as Aries Suva alias “Estong Bato” , around 30-years-old, succumbed to bullet wounds in the body while being rushed to Ospital ng Malabon while one of his cohorts, later identified as John Mark De Guzman, 20, of Block 48, Lot 28, Phase 3 E2, Dagat-dagatan, Barangay Longos, who sustained gunshot wound in the body, was later arrested in a follow-up operation by joint elements of DDEU and Malabon Police Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team. ,
Malabon police chief P/Col. Jessie Tamayao said the arrested suspect was rushed to Tondo Medical Center for treatment of bullet wound in the body while three others, one identified as alias “Bayag”, managed to elude arrest and are now the object of police manhunt.
Gen. Ylagan said that earlier at around 6:45 p.m., elements of DDEU led by P/Capt. Ramon Aquiatan, Jr. under the supervision of Lt. Col. Giovanni Hycenth Caliao I conducted a buy-bust operation against the suspects along Alupihan St. Block 48, Bgy. Longos.
When Suva sensed that he was dealing with an undercover cop, he drew his firearm and shot Aducal in the body, prompting elements of DDEU, who were in a perimeter area to fire back, hitting two of the suspects in the body while three others immediately fled from the scene.
Police recovered from the crime scene seven plastic sachets containing 20 grams of shabu with standard drug price worth P136,000. a caliber .45 with magazine loaded with ammunition and the P500 marked money.
