COMBINED agents of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and Regional Special Operations Unit of the National Capital Region Police Office late Thursday afternoon arrested three suspected big-time drug traffickers in Metro Manila during a buy-bust operation at the parking lot of SM Parañaque City which led in the confiscation of an estimated P1.360 million worth of shabu, NCRPO chief, Director Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar announced yesterday.
Eleazar identified the arrested suspects as John Wyne Arnaiz alias ‘Bossing,’ a discharged member of the Philippine Army and his cohorts Joseph Cabatbat and Valentin Arnaiz.
The official said the three were arrested by combined operatives of the NCRPO RSOU and RDEU after they conspired to sell drugs to an undercover officer at the 4th level parking of SM BF in Sucat, Parañaque City at 4:30 p.m.
Recovered from the suspects’ possession were four plastic bags containing some 200 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine,’ one chamber-loaded caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing seven live ammunition and several bundles of boodle money topped by marked bills.
According to Eleazar, the ex-Army man was arrested shortly after he and his companions arrived at the scene on board a sedan and made the illegal drug transaction with an undercover officer. Agents rushed up and arrested the suspect and his cohorts after the poseur gave the pre-arranged signal that the deal has been consummated, the NCRPO director said. Alfred Dalizon
Eleazar said that the suspects will be facing non-bailable charges for selling and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
