COMBINED forces of police and military are now deployed in two densely populated barangays in Pasay City after residents continued to defy orders to stay at home as part of the implementation of enhanced community quarantine.
“Hindi na kaya ng mga tanod namin na i-cover ang buong barangay at i-implement and enhanced community quarantine. Meron kaming 28,000 residents,” said Barangay 201 chairman James Bontilao.
He said he requested for such augmentation from Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) which deployed more than 60 personnel.
Barangay 201 in Kalayaan Village is the second biggest barangays in the city of Pasay City.
Bontilao said they are also relaxing their window hours based on the instruction of Mayor Calixto-Rubiano to allow more people to go to markets or drugstores.
He said they will only allow those who wear face masks and have quarantine passes to go out and buy basic goods and necessities. “Ipapahuli namin ang lalabag sa batas,” Bontilao said.
