THE Sandiganbayan has suspended for 90 days actor-comedian and Quezon City Councilor Roderick Paulate for his pending graft case on alleged hiring of 30 ghost employees in 2010.
The Seventh Division of the Anti-Graft Court ordered Paulate to cease and desist from further performing and exercising functions, duties and privileges of his position as member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod effective immediately upon receipt of the notice.
The court also ordered Interior Sec. Eduardo Año to implement the directive and submit a report within five days on actions taken.
Earlier, Paulate and his liaison officer Vicente Esquilon Bajamunde were charged with multiple counts of falsification of public documents for alleged ghost transactions that purportedly cost the city council more than P1.1 million in payroll money.
