A LEADER and two other members of a criminal group involved in gun-for-hire, drug trafficking and robbery activities were arrested by agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in an entrapment on Saturday in Pasig City.
In a report submitted to Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Supt. Bernabe Balba, Chief Insp.Benigno Meneses, Eastern District Field Unit NCR- CIDG head, identified the suspects as John Ryan Suarez alias “Bandal”, 34; Amado Gaspar, 39, and Kim Marollano, 30, all of Nagpayong 2, Bgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.
Meneses said the suspects were collared during an entrapment operation after a week-long surveillance at the corner of Mulawin St. and Greenwoods Ave., Bgy. Pinagbuhatan around 3:20 a.m.
Police said prior to the arrest an undercover officer was able to contact Suarez to buy firearms and they agreed to meet at a vacant lot in Greenwoods Ave.
The operation was prompted by information that Suarez, leader of the “Bandal Crime Group,” and his cohorts are engaged in gunrunning, gun for hire, robbery holdup and illegal drug activities in Bulacan, some provinces in Rizal, in Pasig City and nearby areas.
When the suspect handed a gun to the policeman the other operatives moved in to arrest them.
During a search, police found in the suspect’s vehicle 12 heat sealed sachets of white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, Colt caliber 38, caliber 22 and caliber 380 all with live ammunition, Meneses added.
According to Meneses, all suspects had pending cases before the Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC).
